Ceremony was held for the 80th anniversary of Operation Varsity
U.S. Army Pfc. Luis Jimenez, 10th Army Air and Missile Defense Command public affairs specialist, Sgt. 1st Class Michael Riffey, 52D Air Defense Artillery Brigade signal operations noncommissioned officer in charge, Sgt. Yesenia Cadavid, public affair noncommissioned officer, and Sgt. Tyler Fields, network engineer both with 10th AAMDC, serve as Color Guard for the 80th anniversary of Operation Varsity Mar. 24, 2025, on Hamminkeln, Germany, honoring the courage of Allied forces who fought to secure freedom during World War II. Operation Varsity was the largest single-day airborne operation of WWII, it mobilized 16,000 troops and thousands of aircraft in the final major airborne assault of the war and it remains to be one of the last airborne operations of its scale in American history (U.S. Army photo by Pfc.
