On Tuesday, March 25, 2025, the Lord Mayor of Darmstadt, Hanno Benz invited the Commander of the U.S. Army Garrison Wiesbaden, Col. Troy G. Danderson and the Deputy Principal, Jennifer DeWitt Walsh to the Luisenplatz in front of the Darmstadt City Hall for a joint commemoration ceremony of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Darmstadt.
