The Army is one of the most diverse organizations in the nation. Each Soldier and DA Civilian is a valuable contributor to the Army’s mission. Recognizing women’s vital role in WWII, in 1948 President Truman signed into law the the Women’s Armed Services Integration Action, which enabled women to serve as permanent, regular members of the Army. Our military is dedicated to eliminating barriers to service and advancement for women and ensuring equal access and opportunity for all.
