The deadline to submit your absentee voting ballot is approaching. If you have yet to register to vote this year there is a program in place to assist with the process. The Federal Voting Assistance Program, or FVAP, gives service members, family members and overseas civilians a chance to exercise their right to vote in elections from anywhere in the world. This year’s upcoming election will decide the presidency, 34 seats in the United States Senate, all 435 seats in the House of Representatives, 13 governorships in 11 states and two territories and a number of state and local offices and issues. To learn what your states requirement for registering to vote you can visit your local installation voting assistance officer or visit FVAP.gov.
