U.S. Army paratroopers assigned to 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade carry mortar equipment towards the finish line while competing in the Ross Cup on Caserma Del Din, Italy, June 16, 2020. The Ross Cup consists of a series of physically and mentally demanding tasks, intended to honor the memory of fallen mortarman Pfc. Adam C. Ross as well as identify the best mortar squad in the battalion. Pfc. Ross was killed in action on July 24, 2012, in Wardak Province, Afghanistan. He was an ammunition bearer in Chosen Company.
