U.S. Army Europe and Africa Best Warrior Competition Awards Ceremony
Competitors of the 2021 U.S. Army Europe and Africa Best Warrior Competition gather after the completion of the event held at U.S. Army Garrison Hohenfels Training Area, Germany, Aug. 12. The six-day event challenges competitors to overcome an extensive set of tasks and missions designed to test their warfighting knowledge, physical fitness, battlefield skills in hands-on and situational testing, as well as individual oral and written examinations. Fifteen Army commands across Europe and Africa will competed in the annual U.S. Army Europe and Africa Best Warrior Competition. The U.S. Army Europe and Africa leadership recognized the top three ‘best’ category winners – Soldier, officer and noncommissioned officer.

U.S. and Poland continue heritage of rapidly moving troops, ammunition for combat readiness
Troopers from 115th Brigade Support Battalion "Muleskinners," 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division ruck march between training lanes in Skwierzyna, Poland, May 6, 2021 as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve. The 115th is finishing its rotation in Poland and readying to complete redeployment. 1st Cavalry Division master gunners identify potential subject matter experts on deployment
As 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division Troopers ready to redeploy home to Fort Hood, Texas near the end of a nine-month 2020-2021 Atlantic Resolve rotation in Europe, ABCT master gunners took the opportunity to conduct focused training June 28 to July 2 at the Drawsko Pomorskie Training Area, Poland. Atlantic Resolve is a set of rotational units that conduct bilateral, joint and multinational training events across more than a dozen countries, funded by the European Deterrence Initiative, which enables the U.S. to enhance deterrence and increase readiness.

U.S. Army 1st Lt. James Bath, with 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division takes a closer look at artifacts of the Great Escape Museum in Żagań, Poland, July 5, 2021. Troopers with the 1st ABCT were able to participate in a guided tour of the Great Escape Museum as they near the end of a nine-month rotation to Poland in support of Atlantic Resolve. There are four types of U.S. Army Atlantic Resolve rotations—armored, aviation, sustainment task force and division forward headquarters.
