Remembering KFOR RC-E ‘Platoon Grandma’ Slavka Galaks
Slavka Galaks, a local Zubin Potok resident, hosts infantrymen from the Oregon National Guard 2nd Infantry Regiment, 162nd Infantry Battalion with Kosovo Force Regional-Command East Maneuver Battalion, at her home Sep. 06, 2020. The Soldiers often visit Galaks' home to check-in on her health and help with any physically demanding errands. One of KFOR's main missions is to build community partnerships and is executed by building meaningful relationships with the people in Kosovo and ensuring that their needs are not forgotten.

1st Lt. Jacqueline Page makes history during live-fire exercise
U.S. Army 1st Lt. Jacqueline Page, armor officer and scout platoon leader, assigned to the Outlaw Troop, 4/2CR, applies face paint before successfully leading her platoon during a live-fire training exercise at the Vaziani Training Area in Georgia from September 7th to September 18th. Designed to enhance regional partnerships and increase U.S. force readiness and interoperability, the exercise allows participants to conduct sniper and demo ranges, situational training exercises, live-fire exercises and combined mechanized maneuvers. The 4th Squadron, 2d Cavalry Regiment led the multinational training exercise for the regiment and served with approximately 2,800 service members from Georgia, France, Poland and the United Kingdom.

Taking the Train: Soldiers engage in week-long transport operation to Hohenfels

Staying Ready: Units prepare for Combined Resolve XIV during quarantine
Soldiers with the Ukranian military work to prepare their vehicles for the upcoming Combined Resolve XIV exercise in Hohenfels. During a mandatory 14-day restriction of movement (ROM) to prevent COVID-19, all participants in the upcoming exercise have focused on preparing equipment and strategizing for the multinational training event. The meeting is one of dozens of religious leader engagements that Lt. Col. The battalion fully exercised the capabilities of their M-1 Abrams tanks, which are 1,500-horsepower track vehicles that are capable of engaging targets up to 4,000 meters away.
