U.S. Marines with 3rd Intelligence Battalion III MEF Information Group (MIG) conducted a Battlespace Surveillance Company Field Exercise (BSCFEX) on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, August 12, 2021. Both Meteorology and Oceanography (METOC) and Ground Sensor Platoon Marines executed BSCFEX in order to evaluate Marines in annual infantry and METOC military occupational specialty standards to ensure they maintain proficiency while forward-deployed in the Indo-Pacific region. Soldiers live fire FPV drones in Germany

Soldiers conducted a live fire of first-person view drones for the first time at the Grafenwoehr Training Area, Germany, Feb. 17-20, 2025. Although drones have been incorporated into training for years, this event combined FPV drones with live munitions in a series of live fire flights, all within range safety standards. The success is a result of collaboration between U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command, 7th Army Training Command, Joint Multinational Training Group-Ukraine and the 173rd Airborne Brigade.
