The 1st Infantry Division participates in the 164th General Hospital Memorial Ceremony in commemoration of D-Day 79 celebrations in Bolleville La Haye, France, June 3, 2023. The ceremony honored the personnel of the 164th General Hospital, which was the first to land from the U.S. in Berbourg on Sept. 24, 1944. Seventy-nine years later, the bravery and heroism by all Allies during World War II continue to resonate with U.S. forces in Europe – who remain steadfast in their commitment to European allies and partners. Soldiers live fire FPV drones in Germany

Soldiers conducted a live fire of first-person view drones for the first time at the Grafenwoehr Training Area, Germany, Feb. 17-20, 2025. Although drones have been incorporated into training for years, this event combined FPV drones with live munitions in a series of live fire flights, all within range safety standards. The success is a result of collaboration between U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command, 7th Army Training Command, Joint Multinational Training Group-Ukraine and the 173rd Airborne Brigade.
