Arctic Angels deploy to Aleutian Islands

U.S. Army soldiers assigned to Alpha Battery, 5th Battalion, 3rd Field Artillery Regiment (Long Range Fires Battalion), 1st Multi-Domain Task Force, move a M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) to a firing location on Shemya Island, Alaska, as part of a force projection operation to the remote island in the North Pacific Ocean, Sept. 12, 2024. The operation is a display of the division’s ability to project a ready, lethal force quickly to any environment in defense of the nation and partners and allies in the region. Soldiers live fire FPV drones in Germany

Soldiers conducted a live fire of first-person view drones for the first time at the Grafenwoehr Training Area, Germany, Feb. 17-20, 2025. Although drones have been incorporated into training for years, this event combined FPV drones with live munitions in a series of live fire flights, all within range safety standards. The success is a result of collaboration between U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command, 7th Army Training Command, Joint Multinational Training Group-Ukraine and the 173rd Airborne Brigade.
