Telemetry Engineer Jered Herndon of Naval Surface Warfare Center, Corona Division shares how he set up a Pre-Exit Telemetry Retransmission Amplifier antenna aboard guided-missile destroyer USS Fitzgerald (DDG 62) in preparation for the Pacific Dragon 2022 exercise in June 2022 at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. Five nations are participating in PACDRAGON 2022 in and around the Hawaiian Islands in August. This international maritime exercise provides a unique training opportunity to detect, track, and defend against ballistic missiles while fostering and sustaining cooperative relationships among participants critical to ensuring safety and security on the world’s oceans. Soldiers live fire FPV drones in Germany

Soldiers conducted a live fire of first-person view drones for the first time at the Grafenwoehr Training Area, Germany, Feb. 17-20, 2025. Although drones have been incorporated into training for years, this event combined FPV drones with live munitions in a series of live fire flights, all within range safety standards. The success is a result of collaboration between U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command, 7th Army Training Command, Joint Multinational Training Group-Ukraine and the 173rd Airborne Brigade.
