170627-N-GR120-001 NORFOLK (June 27, 2017) Aviation Ordnanceman Airman Tylar McCranie, left, from West Palm Beach, Florida and Aviation Ordnanceman Airman Christopher M. Carpenter, from Harrington, Delaware, salute the ensign during morning colors on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73). The ensign will be at half-staff across the fleet from sunrise until sunset, June 27, in remembrance of the seven Sailors lost aboard the destroyer USS Fitzgerald (DDG 62). George Washington is homeported in Norfolk preparing to move to Newport News, Virginia for the ship’s refueling and complex overhaul (RCOH) maintenance.
