U.S. Army M2A3/M3A3 Bradleys arrive at the Grafenwoehr Tower Barracks railhead, Jan. 29, 2014. The vehicles are part of the European Activity Set, a combined-arms battalion-sized set of vehicles and equipment pre-positioned at the Grafenwoehr Training Area designed to support the U.S. Army's European Rotational Force and the NATO Response Force during training exercises and real-world missions. The 1st Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division will be the first European Rotational Force unit to use the EAS this spring and summer during training exercises throughout the U.S. European Command area of responsibility. Soldiers live fire FPV drones in Germany

Soldiers conducted a live fire of first-person view drones for the first time at the Grafenwoehr Training Area, Germany, Feb. 17-20, 2025. Although drones have been incorporated into training for years, this event combined FPV drones with live munitions in a series of live fire flights, all within range safety standards. The success is a result of collaboration between U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command, 7th Army Training Command, Joint Multinational Training Group-Ukraine and the 173rd Airborne Brigade.
