USS Lake Champlain and HMCS Vancouver conduct a replenishment-at-sea with USNS Rappahannock

180718-N-YR245-0001 PACIFIC OCEAN (July 18, 2018) Guided-missile cruiser USS Lake Champlain (CG 57) and Royal Canadian Navy frigate HMCS Vancouver (FFH 331) conduct a replenishment-at-sea with fleet replenishment oiler USNS Rappahannock (T-AO 204) during Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercise. Twenty-five nations, more than 45 ships and submarines, about 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating RIMPAC from June 27 to Aug. 2 in and around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California. The world’s largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity while fostering and sustaining cooperative relationships among participants critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security of the world’s oceans.
