Nov. 29, 2012 | 2:19
A Boeing 747-400 aircraft landed at Tinian International Airport Nov. 28 during Exercise Forager Fury 2012. This was the first 747 to land on Tinian and brought gear and equipment vital for Marine Aircraft Group 12’s execution of the exercise. Tinian, an island of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, will play host for nearly 100 Marines and sailors during FF 12. The goal of FF 12 is to allow MAG-12 to demonstrate their ability to displace rapidly and generate significant combat power in an expeditionary environment. This historic landing marked the beginning of the exercise which will run through Dec. 19. MAG-12 is part of 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
