Kilo Company Confidence Course
Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego
July 18, 2024 | 0:41
The confidence course comprises 14 obstacles, each designed to enhance recruits' stamina, strength, and confidence. Key obstacles include the High Tower, where recruits climb multiple levels and stay low at the top to avoid simulated enemy fire, and the cargo net, which they must climb like a rope. The Dirty Name requires recruits to jump from a lower log to a higher log, boosting their confidence. Many recruits arrive with fears, such as a fear of heights, which can hinder their progress. The course is crafted to help them overcome these fears by placing them in challenging situations. By facing and overcoming these obstacles, recruits discover their ability to surpass their limitations and conquer their fears. (Department of Defense video by Brandon Williams)
