DEFENDER is the Army’s largest annual opportunity to exercise moving personnel and equipment into theater across modes for initial and follow-on operations critical to Large Scale Combat Operations. Led by U.S. Army Europe and Africa, the exercise focuses on the strategic deployment of CONUS-based forces, employment of Army Prepositioned Stock and follow-on exercises demonstrating lethality and interoperability with Allies and partners

10th Mountain Division executes Summit Strike ‘24 to validate the Division’s ability to seamlessly integrate fires; intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR); and multi-domain operations (MDO) assets to synchronize the ability to find and kill the enemy on Fort Drum, New York on Nov. 21, 2024. The weapons systems that the 10th Mountain Division will be synchronizing include the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), AH-64 Apache Helicopters, Air Force A-10 Warthog, the Mobile-Low, Slow, Small-Unmanned Aircraft Integrated Defeat System (M-LIDS), which is a mobile counter-unmanned aerial system for the Army.
