DEFENDER 25 Outreach tour

DEFENDER is the Army’s largest annual opportunity to exercise moving personnel and equipment into theater across modes for initial and follow-on operations critical to Large Scale Combat Operations. Led by U.S. Army Europe and Africa, the exercise focuses on the strategic deployment of CONUS-based forces, employment of Army Prepositioned Stock and follow-on exercises demonstrating lethality and interoperability with Allies and partners

Fort McCoy Garrison Commander Col. Stephen Messenger provides opening comments May 1, 2024, during the 2024 Arbor Day ceremony at Fort McCoy, Wis. Dozens of installation personnel participated in the ceremony where hundreds of trees were planted and the installation received its 35th Tree City USA designation. Planting thousands of new trees is an effort that is repeated every year on post. Fort McCoy has more than 46,000 acres of forested land managed by the Forestry Office, and it’s important to maintain those forested areas, officials said. (U.S. Army Video by Scott T.
