DEFENDER is the Army’s largest annual opportunity to exercise moving personnel and equipment into theater across modes for initial and follow-on operations critical to Large Scale Combat Operations. Led by U.S. Army Europe and Africa, the exercise focuses on the strategic deployment of CONUS-based forces, employment of Army Prepositioned Stock and follow-on exercises demonstrating lethality and interoperability with Allies and partners

NATO TV visits Zutendaal APS-2 worksite

A multimedia producer from the Public Diplomacy Division, NATO Headquarters, in Brussels, Belgium, visited the Zutendaal Army Prepositioned Stocks-2 worksite May 4 to observe APS-2 operations in support of the DEFENDER 23 exercise. Michael Linennen spoke with the site director, Tiffany Mikus, and the commander of Army Field Support Battalion-Benelux, Lt. Col. Blake Smith. The NATO TV digital outreach and communications specialist also captured the Zutendaal APS-2 team preparing and loading APS-2 equipment pieces belonging to a Multi-Role Bridge Company float bridge system onto commercial line haul transporters bound for Romania to be used during DEFENDER 23.
