DEFENDER 25 Outreach tour

DEFENDER is the Army’s largest annual opportunity to exercise moving personnel and equipment into theater across modes for initial and follow-on operations critical to Large Scale Combat Operations. Led by U.S. Army Europe and Africa, the exercise focuses on the strategic deployment of CONUS-based forces, employment of Army Prepositioned Stock and follow-on exercises demonstrating lethality and interoperability with Allies and partners

Defenders from the 139th Security Forces Squadron board a C-130 Hercules aircraft, which transported them to a drop zone, along with Humvees and four-wheelers, where they trained in patrol and squad movements on May 1, 2024 at Rosecrans Air National Guard Base, St. Joseph, Missouri. This type of training ensures they maintain proficiency in travel techniques, movement formations, and the use of cover and concealment to approach or defend key objectives. Other Airmen from the 139th Airlift Wing also participated in the training. (U.S. Air National Guard video by Michael Crane)
