DEFENDER is the Army’s largest annual opportunity to exercise moving personnel and equipment into theater across modes for initial and follow-on operations critical to Large Scale Combat Operations. Led by U.S. Army Europe and Africa, the exercise focuses on the strategic deployment of CONUS-based forces, employment of Army Prepositioned Stock and follow-on exercises demonstrating lethality and interoperability with Allies and partners

U.S. Marines with Echo Company, 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, participate in a Marine Air-Ground Task Force distributed maneuver exercise as part of Service Level Training Exercise 2-24 at Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, California, Feb. 12-16, 2024. The maneuver exercise prepares Marines for future conflicts by conducting offensive and defensive live-fire and maneuver training scenarios within an austere training environment.
