DEFENDER is the Army’s largest annual opportunity to exercise moving personnel and equipment into theater across modes for initial and follow-on operations critical to Large Scale Combat Operations. Led by U.S. Army Europe and Africa, the exercise focuses on the strategic deployment of CONUS-based forces, employment of Army Prepositioned Stock and follow-on exercises demonstrating lethality and interoperability with Allies and partners

U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Scout, Brooke Army Medical Center education programs facility dog, visits residents at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, Texas, Feb. 26, 2025. The Defense Health Agency Graduate Medical Education Program is the premier platform for producing Medical Corps officers who are expert clinicians trained to the scope of practice required in the operational force and adjusted to the military Medical Corps culture and environment. Scout was assigned to work with students and residents to promote morale and enhance well-being, leading to enhanced communication, stronger social connections and improved task performance.
