DEFENDER is the Army’s largest annual opportunity to exercise moving personnel and equipment into theater across modes for initial and follow-on operations critical to Large Scale Combat Operations. Led by U.S. Army Europe and Africa, the exercise focuses on the strategic deployment of CONUS-based forces, employment of Army Prepositioned Stock and follow-on exercises demonstrating lethality and interoperability with Allies and partners

CATC Course Infantry Mortar Leader Course

U.S. Soldiers assigned to various units participate in the Combined Arms Training Center (CATC) hosted Infantry Mortar Leader Course (IMLC) at the 7th Army Training Command's Grafenwoehr Training Area, Germany, Aug. 21, 2024. IMLC provides commissioned and noncommissioned officers with the knowledge to supervise and direct high-angle fires from a mortar element, enabling the U.S. Army and the Joint Force to prevail in Multi-Domain and Large-Scale Combat Operations.
