U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Hasanein Alrushdawi, a motor transport operator with Marine Wing Support Squadron (MWSS) 273, conducts daily motor transport quality control operations at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, South Carolina, Aug. 17, 2023. Alrushdawi, a native of Baghdad, Iraq, joined the Marine Corps after being inspired by his father's work as an interpreter alongside U.S. armed forces during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Throughout his childhood, Alrushdawi and his family faced poverty and life-threatening situations, which forced the family to leave their home country.
