Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth joined U.S. and French dignitaries, military leaders and World War II veterans at the Normandy American Cemetery, in Normandy, France, to commemorate the 81st anniversary of Operation Overlord, June 6, 2025. The 81st anniversary of D-Day commemorates Allied Forces that liberated the region from German occupation during World War II.
