DEFENDER is the Army’s largest annual opportunity to exercise moving personnel and equipment into theater across modes for initial and follow-on operations critical to Large Scale Combat Operations. Led by U.S. Army Europe and Africa, the exercise focuses on the strategic deployment of CONUS-based forces, employment of Army Prepositioned Stock and follow-on exercises demonstrating lethality and interoperability with Allies and partners

Alfred Wells, a network administrator with Marine Air Control Group 38, Marine Rotational Force – Darwin 24.3, speaks about his life as an Inuit in the Marine Corps at Royal Australian Air Force Base Darwin, NT, Australia, May 7, 2024. Wells is a native of Alaska, and a 4th generation Marine, currently working as the network administrator for the Marine Air Command and Control System Liaison Team, directly facilitating the digital connections between the Marine Air-Ground Task Force fires, MLT and adjacent and higher units.
