Adverse Childhood Experiences Webinar (CAAPM)
Air Force District of Washington
April 10, 2024 | 38:40
316th Wing Integrated Primary Prevention Workforce (IPPW) and the Director of Psychological Health at the Air National Guard Readiness Center, Jamie Rogers, provide an overview of Adverse Childhood Experiences or events (ACEs).

ACEs are potentially traumatic events that occur in childhood and can include violence, abuse, and growing up in a family with mental health or substance use problems. Such traumatic events can change a child's brain development and affect how the body responds to stress. ACEs are linked to chronic health problems, mental illness, and substance misuse in adulthood. The webinar conveys ACE risks and protective factors and how the Joint Base Andrews community and support agencies work together to create healthy and safe environments for its Air Force children.
