DEFENDER is the Army’s largest annual opportunity to exercise moving personnel and equipment into theater across modes for initial and follow-on operations critical to Large Scale Combat Operations. Led by U.S. Army Europe and Africa, the exercise focuses on the strategic deployment of CONUS-based forces, employment of Army Prepositioned Stock and follow-on exercises demonstrating lethality and interoperability with Allies and partners

Allied Spirit 24 is a U.S. Army exercise for its NATO Allies and partners, in conjunction with Large Scale Global Exercise 24, a Department of Defense (DOD) exercise coordinated by U.S. European Command in collaboration with all U.S. DOD Combatant Commands, at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center near Hohenfels, Germany. The exercise develops and enhances NATO and key partners' interoperability and readiness across specified warfighting functions focusing on global cooperation.
