Press Release - U.S. Army Europe and Africa to hold Saber Junction Exercise

HOHENFELS, Germany —

More than 4,400 participants from the U.S. and NATO Allies and partners in Europe will participate in Saber Junction 22 at the U.S. Army’s Hohenfels training area Aug. 29 - Sept. 20, 2022.

Saber Junction is an exercise designed to assess the readiness of the U.S. Army’s 173rd Airborne Brigade to execute unified land operations in a joint, combined environment and to promote interoperability with participating Allied and partner nations.

The exercise is conducted by 7th Army Training Command’s Joint Multinational Readiness Center, the Europe-based Army Combat Training Center tasked with providing training capabilities for leaders, staff, units and multinational partners to dominate in unified land operations around the world.

Allied and partner nations participating in Saber Junction are Albania, Belgium, Bulgaria, Georgia, Hungary, Italy, Kosovo, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Romania, Slovakia, Turkey and the United Kingdom.

Media will have an opportunity to view an airborne entry event, and conduct limited interviews. If the airborne event is moved or cancelled, an alternate media day will be held on Sept. 16.
