WIESBADEN, Germany —

The U.S. Ambassador to Germany, Dr. Amy Gutmann, visited the U.S. Army Europe and Africa headquarters at U.S. Army Garrison Wiesbaden Aug. 8 to meet with the organization's new commanding general, Gen. Darryl Williams, and other senior leaders.

"It was a pleasure to welcome Ambassador Gutmann today," Williams said. "This meeting provided us the chance to discuss further opportunities for the command to strengthen our relationship with the U.S. mission here in Germany and across the European continent. I look forward to working alongside Ambassador Gutmann and her embassy team."

U.S. Army Europe and Africa is the Army service component command for both Europe and Africa. Its forward presence provides the U.S. military with the strategic access vital to missions in both theaters.
