WIESBADEN, Germany —

On Dec. 16, the Department of the Army announced the upcoming spring rotational deployment of the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, to Europe.

The unit will be the ninth armored rotation to deploy to Europe in support of Atlantic Resolve.

The 3rd ABCT, stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado, will replace the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, as part of a regular rotation of forces to support the United States' commitment to NATO allies and partners.

"The Iron Brigade stands ready to answer our nation's call," said Col. Stephen Capehart, commander of the 3rd ABCT. "Our Soldiers are trained, disciplined and fit for any mission. We are thankful for the unwavering support of our families and look forward to partnering with our NATO allies in Europe."

The deployment of ready, combat-credible U.S. forces to Europe in support of Atlantic Resolve is evidence of the strong and unremitting U.S. commitment to NATO and Europe. Through bilateral, joint and multinational training, Atlantic Resolve builds readiness, increases interoperability and enhances the bond between ally and partner militaries.
