WIESBADEN, Germany —
U.S. Army Europe and Africa will participate in the Serbian-led exercise Skybridge from Sept. 13 – 17 in and around Nis, Serbia.
Approximately 120 U.S. Soldiers from the U.S. Army 173rd Airborne Brigade will participate in Skybridge at the invitation of the Serbian government.
The Skybridge airborne exercise allows our partners to connect - personally, professionally, technically and tactically – to create stronger, more capable forces.
During the exercise, U.S. service members will work with the Serbian armed forces’ 63rd Parachute Brigade and Serbian air force to conduct an airborne exercise involving a humanitarian assistance scenario. The event allows the U.S. and Serbian militaries to work together in areas of mutual interests and to build relationships that contribute to regional peace and stability.
On Sept. 16, U.S. service members and their Serbian counterparts will conduct a training humanitarian airdrop. This airdrop enhances our interoperability in areas relating to peace operations and humanitarian and disaster response, as well as strengthens our partnership.
The exercise will integrate COVID-19 mitigation measures to protect participants and host nation communities.
