Media Advisory – Upcoming DEFENDER-Europe 21 media opportunities in Bulgaria, Croatia, Germany, North Macedonia

WIESBADEN, Germany —

U.S. Army Europe and Africa invites members of the press to participate in upcoming scheduled media events for DEFENDER-Europe 21, May 27 – June 3.

 

Bulgaria

  • June 1 – The 41st Field Artillery Brigade and the Tennessee Air National Guard will conduct a High Mobility Artillery Rocket System Rapid Infiltration at Nova Selo Training Area. Those interested can view via livestream on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/USArmyEURAF. Photos, videos, news stories and b-roll packages will be posted to www.dvidshub.net/feature/DefenderEurope and available for use.

 

Croatia

  • May 27 – Immediate Response Distinguished Visitors Day in Slunj. Media will have the opportunity to watch U.S. and Croatian forces demonstrate joint, multinational live-fire exercises. Journalists interested in attending should email USArmyEurope.MediaDesk@mail.mil.

 

Germany

  • June 3 – Members of the press are invited to observe hospital exercises as part of the DEFENDER-Europe 21 linked exercise, Saber Guardian, at Baumholder Training Area. The 30th Medical Brigade will conduct realistic combined and joint medical training in response to a simulated mass casualty scenario. Space is very limited, interested journalists should email usarmy.rheinland-pfalz.21-tsc.list.pao@mail.mil by noon on Tuesday, June 1st.

 

North Macedonia

  • May 31 – Immediate Response and Decisive Strike Distinguished Visitors Day at Krivolak Training Area. Combined, joint forces will demonstrate the integration of coalition forces into offensive operations. Journalists interested in attending should email USArmyEurope.MediaDesk@mail.mil.

 

Weekly updates to DEFENDER-Europe 21 media events are published each Wednesday. All events and limitations are subject to change based on the evolving COVID-19 situation.

 

When possible, U.S. Army Europe and Africa will provide live streaming of events on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/USArmyEURAF. Photos, videos, news stories and b-roll packages of each event will be posted to www.dvidshub.net/feature/DefenderEurope. All products are public domain and can be used by any media outlet. Media representatives can create a free account to download high resolution versions of the products.

 

Due to the current COVID-19 environment, only a limited number of media can participate. COVID-19 mitigation measures vary by each country and entry requirements are specific to the nations you’re traveling out of and in to. Media interested in attending are responsible for verifying their specific requirements and should consult their respective embassy for further clarification.
