WIESBADEN, Germany —
Members of the media are invited to participate in two upcoming events in Poland as part of the last training linked to DEFENDER-Europe 20.
The first event will take place at the Poznan Airport, July 16. Members of the media will be able to observe approximately 550 U.S. Army Soldiers arriving from the U.S. before heading on to conduct Phase II of the modified DEFENDER-Europe 20. The event will include a question and answer period with U.S. military leaders.
Media interested in attending must provide the following information via email (USArmyEurope.MediaDesk@mail.mil) by 4 p.m. July 15, to ensure clearance by airport security:

Media should arrive at the Poznan Airport no later than 6:30 p.m., Public Affairs staff will be on hand to direct you to the right location. Be sure to bring your media credentials and passport on the day of the event.
The second event will take place at Drawsko Pomorskie Training Area, Aug. 11. Members of the media will be able to observe a combined arms live fire exercise at DPTA. Soldiers from the 2nd Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, will draw and field equipment from Army Prepositioned Stock and conduct a combined live-fire exercise. The event will include a question and answer period with U.S. military senior leaders.

Exact meeting locations and time will be provided to registered media after the RSVP deadline. Be sure to bring your media credentials and passport with you on the day of the event. Late registration will not be accepted, nor will name changes made after the registration window closes.

DEFENDER-Europe 20 was designed as a deployment exercise to build strategic readiness in support of the U.S. National Defense Strategy and NATO deterrence objectives. In response to COVID-19, DEFENDER-Europe 20 was modified in size and scope. The first phase was linked exercise Allied Spirit, which took place at Drawsko Pomorskie Training Area, Poland, June 5-19, with approximately 6,000 U.S. and Polish Soldiers.
