WIESBADEN, Germany —
U.S. Army Europe, working in conjunction with the U.S. Embassy Office of Defense Cooperation and the Defense Attaché Office, delivered medical supplies to a Lithuanian state distribution center April 14.
The 331st Civil Affairs Team, 418th Civil Affairs Battalion, transported more than 70 boxes of personal protective equipment consisting of disinfectant solution, gloves, masks and disinfectant wipes for use in hospitals throughout Lithuania.
The Lithuanian government identified a gap in their ability to provide crucial supplies to medical personnel caring for COVID-19 patients. The use of Overseas Humanitarian Disaster Assistance and Civic Aid funds assisted in filling this gap to protect medical providers, preserving the medical capacity of the Lithuanian healthcare system.
This mission demonstrates the U.S. commitment to Lithuania and continued support to our allies during crisis.
