Three Soldiers injured during training in Slovakia

WIESBADEN, Germany —

Three U.S. Soldiers were injured today when an M1A2 Abrams tank struck an embankment during a training exercise at the Multinational Training Area Lest, Slovakia.
 

The injured Soldiers, all assigned to the 1st Squadron, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, were evacuated to nearby medical facilities for treatment.

All Soldiers are in stable condition.

No other information is available at this time. An investigation is ongoing.

The 1st ABCT, 1st CD, arrived in Europe in May 2018 from Fort Hood, Texas, in support of Atlantic Resolve. The unit is currently taking part in exercise Slovak Shield in Lest, Slovakia.
