The Army in Europe Youth Summer Hire Program 2021
The Civilian Human Resources Agencies in the European Region are now accepting applications for the Army in Europe Youth Summer Hire Program. The job announcements will be open from April 9 to April 23 and open to U.S. family member dependents ages 14-22.

Public Health Command Europe veterinarians support the Iditarod
Two Army veterinarians from Public Health Command Europe recently volunteered to travel to Alaska to support one of the most physically demanding sporting events in the world, the Iditarod, a nearly 1,000 mile sled dog race that has been held in March since 1973.

International officers prepare for Warfighter Exercise 21-4

Maj. Gen. Mike Elviss, 3rd U.K. Division commanding general, and Maj. Gen. Laurent Michon, 3rd French Division commanding general, talk about the upcoming, multinational Warfighter Exercise 21-4. WFX 21-4 is a Department of the Army directed, Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) conducted exercise to enable the training audiences to build decisive action readiness for large-scale combat operations.
SDDC, Total Force team load first DEFENDER-Europe 21 equipment
The Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command is once again moving cargo to Europe in support of DEFENDER-Europe 21. A Total-Force team of active-duty, National Guard and Reserve Soldiers, civilians and commercial partners began loading the Military Sealift Command’s U.S. Naval Ship Bob Hope March 24, 2021 in support of Immediate Response, a linked exercise to DEFENDER-Europe 21, at the port of Jacksonville.

Massive multinational exercise aims to train and measure progress of interoperability
The U.S. Army has planned a major multinational warfighter exercise (Warfighter 21-4), April 6-15, with the simulation of a corps-level battle involving a U.S., U.K. and French Army tactical divisions. The exercise involves thousands of troops and support personnel, distributed across multiple installations including Fort Hood and Fort Bliss, Texas Fort Bragg, North Carolina and Grafenwoehr, Germany.

KFOR Soldiers administer COVID-19 vaccine
U.S. Army Soldiers with the 566th Medical Company (Area Support) based out of Fort Hood, Texas, assigned to Regional Command-East, Kosovo Force, administered the first round of COVID-19 vaccines to Soldiers at Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo, on March 27, 2021. Camp Bondsteel’s medical staff were the first group to receive the vaccine.

Polish Maj. Gen. Joks selected to serve as first Polish Deputy Commanding General assigned to V Corps
Mariusz Błaszczak, Polish Minister of Defense met with Lt. Gen. John Kolasheski, V Corps commanding general stationed in Poland and announced the position of deputy commander of V Corps will be held by Polish Maj. Gen. Adam Joks. This position enhances the bond between the U.S. Army and the Polish Ministry of Defense and highlights the importance of Poland in the security of the region.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Europe District is working with U.S. Army Europe and Africa, the 7th Army Training Command, the garrison, the German government, and other partners to deliver new facilities for brigades training in Grafenwoehr, who are often en route to deployments.

The 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division is on the move again following the conclusion of Combined Resolve XV. The Brigade is hard at work conducting line haul and rail operations to push equipment out to European destinations to continue the mission for Atlantic Resolve, Mar. 11-13, 2021.
