Col. Tracy Michael took over the newly activated 68th Theater Medical Command in September 2024.
He is a native of Brooklyn, New York and served for eight years as a Signal Soldier before being selected for a Green-to-Gold ROTC Scholarship. In 1998, he graduated from the University of Washington and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Medical Service Corps.
Col. Michael most recently served as the Commander, 1st Medical Brigade, Fort Cavazos, Texas.

He is board certified in healthcare management, and a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. He is also a Health Innovators Fellow at the Aspen Institute and a member of the Aspen Institute’s Global Leadership Network.
