Allied Spirit is a U.S. Army exercise for multinational partners, conducted at 7th Army Training Command training areas at Grafenwoehr and Hohenfels, Germany.
 
Unlike other USAREUR-AF exercises, which feature U.S. brigade combat teams in a lead role augmented by Allies and partners, Allied Spirit places an Allied unit as the main training audience. While U.S.-led, this exercise will develop and enhance NATO and key partner interoperability and readiness across specified warfighting functions.

Petty Officer 1st Class Kevin O'Connor, an operations specialist, discusses the importance of emergency position indicating radio beacons and personal locator beacons in honor of 406 MHz Day on April 6, 2018 at Sector Houston-Galveston in Houston, Texas. In 2017, within the United States and its surrounding waters, 275 people owed their rescue to the use of 406 MHz distress signals and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration satellites, which are part of the international search and rescue satellite-aided tracking system.
