DEFENDER

DEFENDER is the Army’s largest annual opportunity to exercise moving personnel and equipment into theater across modes for initial and follow-on operations critical to Large Scale Combat Operations. Led by U.S. Army Europe and Africa, the exercise focuses on the strategic deployment of CONUS-based forces, employment of Army Prepositioned Stock and follow-on exercises demonstrating lethality and interoperability with Allies and partners

Yama Sakura 85: Cultural Exchange Event, Reel
U.S. Army Japan
Dec. 7, 2023 | 0:17
Members from the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force host a cultural exchange event before the start of Yama Sakura 85 on Camp Higashi-Chitose on Dec. 2, 2023. Sharing and exchanging cultures is vital to our nations' partnership as we prepare to start Yama Sakura 85. Yama Sakura 85 is historic as it is the first-ever joint command post exercise involving the U.S. Army, the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, and the Australian Army on Japanese soil! Together, they're training in a joint environment to boost multi-domain and cross-domain interoperability, ensuring readiness for a free and open Indo-Pacific. (U.S. Army video by Sgt. Omar Joseph)
