Day Two of the 2026 USAREUR-AF Best Squad Competition at Grafenwoehr, Germany, July 31, 2026. Squads pushed through the Iron Traverse, an M4 stress shoot, the obstacle course, and the Iron Squad Challenge, with scores from the previous night's land navigation event also factored in as part of Day Two standings. The event tests the squad's effectiveness, communication, and overall cohesion, as well as the individual Soldiers' technical and tactical proficiency, endurance, and fortitude. This competitive training event exercises a full range of Squad-Level Skills, highlighting professional excellence and knowledge to determine the command's top teams. Winners of this competition will advance to represent U.S. Army Europe and Africa at the Army Best Squad Competition.

U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to the 603rd Military Police Company, 109th Military Police Battalion, host a static display at the Kaunas air show in Kaunas, Lithuania, July 25, 2026. As the only U.S. military unit at the event, the Soldiers displayed a Mine-Resistant Ambush-Protected All-Terrain Vehicle mounted with an M2 .50-caliber machine gun, let attendees try on helmets and demonstrated equipment for the Lithuanian public. The Soldiers are currently stationed at Pabradė Training Area, where its Soldiers conduct military police operations in support of V Corps and NATO allies in the Baltic region.

The U.S. Tri-Mission in Belgium hosted "Freedom 250" at Parc du Cinquantenaire in Brussels on June 28, 2026, marking the 250th anniversary of American independence. More than 8,000 guests, including U.S. service members, allied military personnel, and senior European Union, NATO, and Belgian leadership, gathered to honor the historic milestone and reinforce transatlantic unity. The event kicked off with an outdoor festival featuring a wide array of activities, local food vendors and live music from several bands, such as the U.S. Army Europe and Africa Band and Chorus. The celebration culminated in headlining performances by the Zac Brown Band and Alexis Wilkins alongside a ceremonial military flyover and a fireworks display.

Are you ready for the European Entry/Exit System?
The Entry/Exit System (EES) is an automated IT system for registering non-EU nationals travelling for a short stay, each time they cross the external borders. EES will capture biometric data, such as fingerprints, facial image, and other travel information, gradually replacing the current system of passport stamping.
