WIESBADEN, Germany —

U.S. Army Europe and Africa will bid farewell to Command Sgt. Maj. Robert V. Abernethy, currently assigned as command sergeant major, U.S. Army Europe and Africa, and welcome Command Sgt. Maj. Jeremiah Inman during a Change of Responsibility ceremony on Lucius D. Clay Kaserne, Jan. 28, at 1 p.m. Central European Time.

The Office of the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff announced last December that Command Sgt. Maj. Abernethy has been selected to replace Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Phillip L. Easton as command senior enlisted leader for U.S. European Command, Patch Barracks, Stuttgart, Germany.

Command Sgt. Maj. Abernethy assumed duties as U.S. Army Europe and Africa’s command sergeant major April 2018.

Command Sgt. Maj. Inman returns to Europe after previously serving as the command sergeant major of U.S. Army Africa, now designated as Southern European Task Force, Africa, from 2017 to 2019.

Due to COVID-19 precautionary measures, members of the press are invited to watch the event virtually, via our official Live Stream Page.
