KARLIKI, Poland —
Approximately 390 U.S. Soldiers from the 15th Engineer Battalion, 18th Military Police Brigade, will participate in exercise Resolute Castle Aug. 10 – Sept. 3, in Poland.
Exercise Resolute Castle 20 is a U.S. Army Europe-led, multinational exercise that provides unit training opportunities with the completion of tangible construction projects.
Resolute Castle is designed to reinforce regional partnerships and promote interoperability with host nation forces by providing improvements to existing infrastructure.
Modified from its original design to ensure the safety of soldiers due to COVID-19, Resolute Castle 20 will consist of six infrastructure enhancing engineering projects conducted by the 15th Engineer Battalion.
This year, projects include the construction of an intermediate staging base, forward arming and refueling point maintenance, the clearing of a Helicopter Landing Zone, and the improvement of a railhead byway and range road at Camp Trzbien.
Additionally, improvements will include the construction of a general-purpose warehouse in Karliki and the construction of a fuel system supply point at Drawsko Pomorskie Training Area.
COVID-19 precautionary measures will be taken to ensure the health and protection of participating armed forces and the local population. Additionally, prior to arriving at Drawsko Pomorskie Training Area and Zagan Training Area personnel will have completed a 14-day quarantine or will be quarantined at an identified logistics support area at DPTA or ZTA. During this time, they will also undergo testing for COVID-19.
