GRAFENWOEHR, Germany —
Exercise Rapid Trident 2019 will take place Sept. 13-28, at the International Peacekeeping Security Centre near Yavoriv, Ukraine.
Rapid Trident is an annual, multinational exercise composed of a computer-assisted command post exercise integrated with situational training exercises, and a field training exercise.
Approximately 3,700 service members from 14 allied and partner nations are participating in the exercise, including almost 375 U.S. military and civilian personnel from the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), California Army National Guard, U.S. Army Reserve, U.S. Army Europe, 7th Army Training Command, and U.S. Special Operations Command Europe in staff, support and control roles. This includes approximately 165 U.S. Soldiers from the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) who have been serving at JMTG-U since April 2019.
The United States and Ukraine began working together more than 25 years ago, and this relationship continues to grow as we to exercise and train together in Rapid Trident, an exercise that contributes to Ukraine's continued defense modernization and U.S./NATO standardization, which enables Ukrainian cooperation in regional security efforts and increases international integration.
Media interested in covering Rapid Trident 19 must provide the following information:
1. Copy of press credentials
2. Copy of national ID
3. Signed “Authority to Release Medical Information”
4. Signed “Media and Official Visitor Ground Rules”
5. Signed “Indemnification Agreement and Liability Waiver”
