KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany —

The 10th Army Air and Missile Defense Command will conduct a change of command ceremony and transition to a one-star command Aug. 7 at 10 a.m. at NCO Field on Daenner Kaserne.

During the ceremony, Col. David E. Shank will relinquish command to Brig. Gen. Gregory J. Brady. Media are invited to cover the event.

10th AAMDC is moving to a one-star general officer level command, transitioning to an identical command structure as the other two active duty Army Air and Missile Defense headquarters. The transition will support the increase in air and missile defense forces, capabilities and requirements across the European theater.

10th AAMDC serves as U.S. Army Europe’s executive agent for all theater air and missile defense operations and air missile defense force management. The command helps to strengthen strategic ties while building partnership capacity for U.S. Army Europe, U.S. European Command and NATO - integrating with joint and multinational partners in all aspects of air and missile defense.

A 1991 U.S. Military Academy graduate, Brady comes to Rhine Ordnance Barracks from White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico, where he served as the installation commander.

Shank assumed command of 10th AAMDC in June 2017. He will serve as the deputy commandant as his next assignment for the Air Defense Artillery School in Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
