The Entry/Exit System (EES) is an automated IT system for registering non-EU nationals travelling for a short stay, each time they cross the external borders. EES will capture biometric data, such as fingerprints, facial image, and other travel information, gradually replacing the current system of passport stamping.

U.S. service members alongside NATO allies commemorated the Allied troops who fought during Operation Market Garden in World War II during Germany’s occupation in the Netherlands.
U.S. Airmen assigned to the 307th Bomb Wing and the 49th Test and Evaluation Squadron commemorated the first flight of a B-52 equipped with a Link 16, a tactical data link in the European Theater, at RAF Fairford, England, as part of Cobra Warrior 2025.

JMTG-U UAV Innovation Team Tests Grenade Delivery System
The Joint Multinational Training Group–Ukraine (JMTG-U) Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) innovation team conducted a live-fire test at Grafenwoehr Training Area, Germany, Sept. 9–12, 2025, dropping 117 live M67 grenades using a Skydio X10 Delta drone.

During Saber Junction 25, soldiers from Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 4th Infantry Regiment (IR), role-played oppositional forces (OPFOR), using a drone to locate, identify, and engage training exercise participants at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center's Hohenfels Training Area, Germany. The drone, equipped with thermal imaging and capable of spotting vehicles up to four kilometers away, has been critical in locating scouts, directing artillery fire, and guiding units in real time. During the first four days, the 4th IR's OPFOR used the system heavily. By forcing rotational training units to adapt to constant aerial observation and precision targeting, the exercise delivered a more realistic and challenging environment for NATO forces training together.
Hawkeye Platoon Leads Army Innovation with Tactical Drones and 3D-Printed Lethality
When the U.S. Army officially sunset the RQ-7B Shadow platform in April 2024, it left a void for Soldiers trained in unmanned aerial operations. But for Hawkeye Platoon, Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 1st Squadron, 91st Cavalry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade, it was also an opportunity to redefine how small units integrate drone technology in the modern fight.

FPV Drone Training in Germany Continues drumbeat of the Army's Transformation Initiative
In the wet and rainy woods of Germany, drone blades whirr and cut through the drizzle as Soldiers from the 3rd Infantry Division test newly minted First Person View (FPV) drones. These drones are part of the US Army's armored brigade combat team Transformation in Contact (TiC) training progression and experimentation.

7th Army Training Command; Joint Multinational Training Group-Ukraine; and 173rd Airborne Brigade tested the ability to drop a live M67 grenade using a Skydio X10 and a U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command-developed Audible dropper for the first time in the Grafenwoehr Training Area, Germany, June 25, 2025. Soldiers from 7th Army Training Command, the Joint Multinational Training Group-Ukraine and 173rd Airborne Brigade all worked together to make this the first live-grenade drop from an unmanned aircraft system in the U.S. Army for conventional forces.
