U.S. Army Sgt. Glen O. Spence, Alpha Troop, Regimental Support Squadron, 2d Cavalry Regiment, shares his journey in honor of Black History Month on Feb. 25, 2020. Spence credited his influences as, Marcus Garvey, a fellow Jamaican and civil rights activist, and Nelson Mandela, the first black president of South Africa known for his work to help end the country’s apartheid system.
