Drone footage of live fire range exercise between U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division and Polish Land Forces conduct modern warfare technology demonstrations and static displays at Drawsko Combat Training Center, Poland, Jan. 13, 2026. Polish Maj. Gen. Maciej Jablonski, Deputy Commanding General- Interoperability U.S. Army V Corps fired the U.S. M1A2 Abrams Tank during the live fire exercise. The event highlighted the importance of mechanized forces in reinforcing NATO’s defensive posture in Poland. U.S. and NATO forces in Europe conduct ongoing joint training exercises to strengthen interoperability and ensure collective defense readiness.

Soldiers live fire FPV drones in Germany

Soldiers conducted a live fire of first-person view drones for the first time at the Grafenwoehr Training Area, Germany, Feb. 17-20, 2025. Although drones have been incorporated into training for years, this event combined FPV drones with live munitions in a series of live fire flights, all within range safety standards. The success is a result of collaboration between U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command, 7th Army Training Command, Joint Multinational Training Group-Ukraine and the 173rd Airborne Brigade.

A homemade simulator, a high-altitude balloon, and a new task organization came together last week in Chimera Sunrise, a virtual sensor-to-shooter exercise that pushed the boundaries of multi-domain operations inside the 2nd Multi-Domain Task Force (2MDTF), 56th Artillery Command’s Innovation Lab.
