Press Release – Albanian Chief of Defense visits U.S. Army Europe and Africa Headquarters

WIESBADEN, Germany —

The Albania Chief of Defense and the U.S. Ambassador to Albania visited U.S. Army Europe and Africa Headquarters Dec. 2, to discuss ongoing partnerships between the two NATO allies.

Gen. Christopher G. Cavoli, Commanding General, U.S. Army Europe and Africa, welcomed Ambassador Yuri Kim and Maj. Gen. Bajram Begaj along with Albania Land Forces Commander, Brig. Gen. Arben Kingji, with an honor cordon and short tour of the headquarters.

The attendees discussed strengthening military cooperation, interoperability, honing capabilities and reinforcing relationships. The Albania delegation proceeded to U.S. European Command Headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany, for similar discussions.

U.S. Army Europe and Africa has a strong relationship with Albania’s armed forces through robust military-to-military engagements. Albania was a major host country for DEFENDER-Europe 21 and will once again participate in DEFENDER-Europe 22.

Prudent COVID-19 precautionary measures were used during the visit.
